The Waikiki Aquarium in Honolulu

Sign for the Waikiki Aquarium.

Like The Honolulu Zoo, the Waikiki Aquarium in Honolulu is quite small but you will get to see some of Hawaii's unique marine life. It's one of the oldest public aquariums in the United States and is now part of the University of Hawaii. And it has one of the best locations in the world: right next to Waikiki Beach.

If you are not close enough to walk, there is parking right near the Aquarium and public buses have stops close by.

Coral

If you have spent any time out at the beaches, you know there is plenty of coral both living and dead in the ocean here. You might even have a few cuts and scratches from it. You can get a better look at it, without the danger of getting more cuts! at the Aquarium and learn more about it and other ocean creatures. The Aquarium offers some special programs so have a look a the schedule while you're here.
