Kahanamoku Beach in Honolulu

Kanahamoku Beach.

Kahanamoku Beach in Honolulu is named for Duke Paoa Kahanamoku and is located in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Like Kuhio Beach, Kahanamoku Beach has more gentle water because it is protected by a pier on one side and a wall on the other and makes a nice spot for kids or those swimmers who don't want big waves. If you do want the more exciting waves for surfing and body boarding, the open ocean of Fort DeRussy Beach is just on the other side of the pier.

Kanahamoku Beach.

Because both Kahanamoku and Fort DeRussy Beaches are right near Hilton Hawaiian Village and other hotels, you have easy access to restaurants for a full meal or cafes for just a snack and a drink. Have lunch on the beach, in the restaurants or at nearby Fort DeRussy Park. Where ever you choose, you'll have a nice view.
