The Honolulu Zoo

Both The Honolulu Zoo and The Waikiki Aquarium are small but certainly have a nice location! Right across from the ocean!

The Zoo is in Kapiolani Park which is a beautiful spot for a picnic lunch too. Because the Zoo is small, it probably won't take the whole day. When you've finished your tour of the zoo, enjoy the park or simply walk across the street to the beach.

The Zoo is quite easy to get to. If you're close enough to walk, great. If not, there are both metered and free street parking available and the Honolulu bus goes right by.

Reminder: Do not leave valuables or even anything that looks valuable in the car. Break-ins are all too common.

The Zoo has some nice educational programs for children and families that let visitors get closer to the animals as they learn about them. Check the zoo schedule for events happening while you are in Honolulu.
