Honolulu Real Estate

Photo of the Honolulu skyline.

Most of the Honolulu Real Estate you will find is in the form of Honolulu condos. There are some single family homes but not as many. When looking at Honolulu Real Estate, keep in mind this is an island and space is at a premium. That means smaller units renting and selling for higher prices but this is Hawaii and the scenery, weather, beaches and more make it worth it. And of course, everything is negotiable. This is where a good realtor can really help!

Homes in Honolulu and Waikiki have a terrific central location that is close to restaurants, shopping and those wonderful beaches. Many offer spectacular ocean, city and mountain views that you won't find many other places.

When shopping for real estate in Honolulu (again, probably Honolulu condos), you'll be looking at the unit itself as well as the building and the amenities available. Each building generally will have units owned by different individuals. Some units in a building may be for long or short term rent and others may be for sale so in the same building you will have some owners living there and some renters. This variation makes finding the right place in the right building or neighborhood more tricky.

Parking for Waikiki and Honolulu Condos

Street Parking in Waikiki. Not all residential buildings and hotels have parking or enough parking for all tenants and many have unsecured parking. So what do you do if you don't have a parking spot? Some people who have a spot but don't need it will rent it out. Otherwise, you look for street parking. If you do park on the street, read the signs carefully to avoid a ticket. Some places do not allow overnight parking and others need to be empty during street cleaning.

Buying and even renting property is a major decision and can be both exciting and stressful. We wish you the best of luck in your search and we're sure you're going to love living and investing in Honolulu.
