At the end of Waikiki, you will find the Honolulu Kapiolani Beach and Park. The beach is sometimes also called Queens Beach but the park is always called Kapiolani Park and it is huge! There are plenty of places to picnic, have a game of your favorite sport, relax or visit the nearby Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium.
Kapiolani park is Honolulu's oldest public park. It was created by King Kalakaua in the 1876 and is named for Queen Kapiolani. In addition to the zoo and aquarium, the Waikiki Shell is also located in the park and hosts a variety of concerts and there is also a pavillion where free concerts are often held. The park also hosts weekend art shows as well as many activities during the holidays and special events.
There is quite a bit of free parking throughout the park and TheBus, Oahu's public transportation, comes through the park making it convenient to get to and a popular spot for locals to go jogging.
