Kalua Pigpork butt or pork shoulder (really any pork with fat will work) salt to taste (we prefer Hawaiian salt) liquid smoke (optional) cabbage (optional)Cut pork into about 1 - 2 inch / 2.5 - 5 centimeter cubes, cook in a crock pot for about 2 hours until the meat is tender and falls apart, add cabbage and cook to taste (when we add cabbage, we like it to be just a little crunchy so we only let it cook for a few minutes) Lau Laupork butt or pork shoulder any type of fish you like, we like butterfish and salmon salt to taste (we prefer Hawaiian salt) taro leaves ti leaves or tin foilCut pork into about 1 - 2 inch / 2.5 - 5 centimeter cubes, cut fish into about 3 inch / 7.5 centimeter cubes, wrap pork and fish in taro leaves, we put 2 - 3 pieces of meat and fish in each but you can put however much or little you want, wrap the taro in ti leaves or tin foil, cook in a pressure cooker for about 40 minutes Huli Huli ChickenFor the sauce, we use equal amounts of soy sauce or shoyu, ketchup and brown sugar then ginger and garlic to taste. (There are endless variations to huli huli chicken so have fun experimenting with your sauce!) Marinade the chicken for at least 30 minutes and then cook. It’s best cooked on a grill but a rotisserie works well too. HaupiaThis is a wonderful coconut desert and one of our favorites. It’s super easy when we make it because we cheat! We buy a mix and just add water.
