Hawaii Interisland Travel

North Shore Oahu. Kauai. Mount Kilauea.

Each Hawaiian island is unique and worth a visit. Because Hawaii Interisland Travel is so easy it's possible to pop over to another island for a quick visit and see something a little different. Luckily, they are all beautiful so no matter which island you choose, you won't go wrong.

Honolulu is the only major city you will find in Hawaii so visiting other parts of Oahu and other islands will give you a more country feel. Getting around Honolulu and Waikiki does not require a car but getting around the other islands does and the car rentals can be expensive. If you have time while you're here to see the other islands you will not be disappointed.

Interisland Flights

Air travel between the islands is easy and convenient. Flights leave Honolulu throughout the day and with several airlines offering interisland service, you shouldn't have a problem getting the flight you need.

Hawaiian Airlines - founded in 1929, Hawaiian Airlines has been voted #1 in on-time arrivals and baggage service. Full service interisland, domestic and international flights.

Aloha Airlines - offers interisland flights and flights to the US West Coast. Some flights are open seating.

Go! - operated by Mesa Airlines, Inc, Go! is the newest option in interisland flights.

Island Air - an independent airline serving all major airports in Hawaii.

Watch for online and last minute deals. Most flights are sold as one-way tickets so you can also mix and match to get the best fares. We've flown out on one airline and back on another in order to get the best fares.

Hawaii Superferry

The Hawaii Superferry catamaran. When it comes to your Hawaii Interisland Travel, you now have another option in addition to flying. The Superferry accepts walk on passengers and well as passengers with vehicles which can be a significant advantage because rental cars on the outer islands can be pricey.

The Superferry has worked hard to minimize negative impacts on the environment and works with such groups as The Whale Sanctuary Advisory Council and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Book a trip on the Superferry.

Kauai

A waterfall on Kauai. From Honolulu, you can catch a quick 30 minute flight to Lihue. On Kauai you will find the wettest spot on earth, Mount Waialeale. That means you can expect rain. It can get rather windy too.

Kauai is also home to the Pacific's largest canyon, Waimea Canyon. Vista points and hiking trails offer some amazing views and you'll get to see plenty of waterfalls.

Maui

Maui. Kahului City is just a 40 minute flight from Honolulu. As we've said, it's best to get a rental car on the outer islands and on Maui you have the option of renting earth friendly cars at Eco-Car Rentals.

You can observe whales throughout the Hawaiian islands and the Great Maui Whale Festival is one of the best times. Humpback whales come to Hawaii to mate and give birth and this festival celebrates these majestic creatures with activites and of course whale watching.

The Big Island of Hawaii

Lava rock at a Big Island beach.Hawaii is the youngest and largest of the Hawaiian islands. Fly into either Hilo on the east side or Kailua-Kona on the west side, both less than an hour flight from Honolulu.

While on the Big Island, don't miss Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Mount Kilauea and the black sand beaches.

Visit one island or visit them all. Choose your mode of Hawaii Interisland Travel and off you go. Have a wonderful time!
